Nine out of ten people in Italy give a trip as a gift on Valentine’s Day. Here are the destinations preferred by lovers.

Here we are: in two weeks it will be Valentine’s Day, a holiday that is obviously very heartfelt by many couples in love. Many are looking for ideas on what to give their partner, but it seems that most have very clear ideas. In fact, according to a study by PiratinViaggio carried out to explore Italian trends related to Valentine’s Day, traveling is the most popular choice.

Valentine’s Day Trip: The Most Popular Destinations.

Valentine’s Day is therefore considered the ideal occasion to give travel experiences: nine out of ten people think that a vacation is the most desired gift. Almost all participants in the survey would prefer to receive a trip rather than a material object, highlighting the value of experiential gifts. Travel is appreciated for the possibility of sharing quality time, creating lasting memories, experiencing happiness, escaping from routine and, in an ecological key, avoiding the accumulation of useless objects.

Gen Z romantics in particular believe that travel is the best and most satisfying choice. Among the most romantic destinations for Valentine’s Day, Paris is confirmed as the most popular destination, followed by Venice, Vienna, Bruges and Kyoto, demonstrating that cities of art dominate preferences for romantic getaways. In general, research shows that around 80% of Italians have organized a romantic trip at least once, with over half doing so to dedicate themselves completely to their relationship.

These are the most popular destinations, but they are certainly not the only ones. In fact, opting for less inflated destinations could be even more suggestive. In this sense, evaluating the visit of the many beautiful villages of Italy could make a lot of sense.

As for the favorite activities, days of relaxation and visits to museums and parks are in first place, followed by dinners in romantic settings and adventurous or cultural experiences outdoors. Less interest arouses domestic activities such as cooking together or watching films.
